Written and performed by Stevie Wonder in 1976, ‘Sir Duke’ became a number one in the US and number two in the UK. Apparently, the song was written as a tribute to Duke Ellington. Only 26 when ‘Sir Duke’ hit the big time, Stevie remains with Motown to this day, having been responsible for a massive 30 top ten hits as a single artist.

Incredibly talented though he is, Stevie was a bit too boogie-oriented for me. I know that I am in the minority of course, so Motown are right to feature this track as it was very successful.
