Written by Smokey Robinson, “Get Ready” made it to number 29 in 1966 for the Temptations. It was in fact the last record that Smokey produced for the Temptations as Motown replaced Robinson with Norman Whitfield as the group’s producer thereafter.

The output of the Temptations was prolific. A lot of their popular early stuff was too early for me, but hits like Get Ready came in just about the time I was beginning to really get into music and it reminds me of much more carefree days.
