Thelma Houston recorded her version of “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” in 1969 which was included in her debut album “Sunshower”. It was produced by Jimmy Webb and didn’t make a great impact largely due to poor marketing. In 1971 she signed with Motown and had more success, most notably with her cover version of “Don’t leave me this way” in 1976.
