Although this had been an original hit for Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in 1967, “Ain’t no Mountain High Enough” was re-released by Motown in 1970, but this time with Diana Ross as the artist. It reached number one in the US and number 6 in the UK. It was taken from her debut solo album. However, a mere two years later, Diana Ross quit Motown.

Personally, I prefer the original version, but the song itself deserved to be on the album. But then I am not a huge Diana Ross fan.
diana ross is good but this track is not her best
It’s SOoooooo difficult to choose a favourite as I’m a huge fan and have so many Motown CD’s, I’ve lost count.
I’ve chosen the Diana Ross – Ain’t No River – because not only am I a huge Diana Ross fan, (been fortunate enough to see her live, totally amazing) but this track is my daughters and my song. We dance around the room singing or could it be wailing into whatever we can grab make believe microphones. It’s very special to me!
All great songs, but Ain’t No River never fails to uplift me. It brings back great memories of when I really could fling myself around to that fantastic beat.
